The Perfect Eyebrow Shape For Your Face

Having your eyebrows done right will not only help bring out your eyes, but also improve your face’s overall symmetry. Learn about which eyebrow shape suits your face and look younger and beautiful.

Round Face
If your face is round, you should make your eyebrows very angular as a rounder face lacks definition. High-arched and perfectly angled brows can define your facial bone structure.

Square Face
To soften the angularity of a square jaw, rounded eyebrows are the way to go. But beware of making your eyebrows appear too round, as you do not want to create a rainbow shape.

Long Face
A long face makes your features look vertically stretched out. It is important to extend the tails of eyebrows beyond the outer corner of the eyes to play up the horizontal features and balance the face shape.

Heart-Shaped Face
Due to a petite jaw line and emphasis on the upper part of the face, it is best to keep eyebrows thin, well-manicured and exceptionally groomed. The tight eyebrows on the top part of the face will serve to balance a smaller chin.

Oval Face
For this well-proportioned face shape, classic, balanced eyebrows are a perfect choice.

The right eyebrows will make you look fresh, rested, and more attractive. Raise an eyebrow with perfectly groomed brows!

Post-Party Skincare Tips

The festive season involves a lot of partying, drinking and lack of sleep – all which can take their tolls on your skin. Now it’s time to get your skin back in shape. We’ve compiled 4 tips to help you regain soft, refreshed skin.

Tip 1: Purify Your Skin
We understand that you just want to flop into bed after a night out partying. However, wearing makeup while you are asleep can cause irritation and block pores. Use a mild cleansing milk product to cleanse your face, or if you just want your bed after a few drinks, face wipes come in handy too.

Tip 2: Hydrate Your Skin
Alcohol has a dehydrating effect on your body and skin. A lack of moisture will make your skin look parched and lifeless. Drink lots and lots of water for several days after a party and if possible, right before bed, and keep your skin moisturized with hydrating cream or anti-oxidant face oil.

Tip 3: Use a Targeted Mask
Masks are a great tool to get your complexion back to its pre-party state. Start with a hydrating mask to replenish moisture. If you're dealing with breakouts (which can result from too many indulgences), opt instead for a blemish-busting mask.

Tip 4: Stay natural
If you have to attend an event after partying, try to avoid heavy makeup. Instead, apply a tinted moisturizer that would give a toned and refreshed look to your face. Also, avoid eye makeup as it would further deteriorate the condition of the skin around the eyes.

So there we go – 4 simple after-party tricks to keep you in good shape for the next holiday season!

Christmas Party Makeup Ideas

With Christmas fast approaching, it’s the best time to trade in matte eyeshadow for glittery shades, and nude lip gloss for red lipstick. Here are our guides on how to create the glamorous, Christmassy look.

Tip 1: Bronze Glittery Smokey Eyes
We all love Christmas because everything is beautifully glowing. The same is true for eye makeup.

Steps:
1. Apply a light bronze gold color over the lids, then a dark brown color on the outer corners. Blend the two colors.
2. Take a light gold shimmery color and dab on the inner corners of the eyes.
3. Pat brown glitter all over the lids.
4. Finish off by drawing black eyeliner and applying mascara.

Tip 2: Highlighter & Bronzer
To get a shimmering look, apply highlighter on your cheekbones, brow bone and bridge of the nose. Warm up your skin by applying bronzer on the forehead, under the cheek bones, and along your jawline.

Tip 3: Rosy Cheeks
Give your cheeks a rosy tint by mixing and applying complementary blush colors, one darker and one lighter. Or start off with the lighter shade and then layer the darker hue over it.

Tip 4: Red Lips
Your Christmas makeup is never complete without bright, red lip color. Opt for mauve or reddish shades alternatively if you are not a fan of bright red.

Tip 5: Burgundy Nails
Burgundy-colored nails are your festive must-have for an instant reaction. It has a modern feel that will never go out of style.

Are You Applying Moisturizer the Right Way?

Applying moisturizer seems pretty easy, right? If you are the slap-it-on-and-go type, think again! Putting on moisturizer properly helps give softer, smoother skin.

Here’s how to make the most out of your hydrating regime.

Choose the Right Moisturizer for Your Skin Type
One of the keys for hydration is to pick a product that is suitable for your skin, because an unsuitable product may cause breakouts and irritation.

Oily skin: Look for lotions instead of creams. Find formulas that have exfoliating ingredients, such as lactic glycolic and salicylic acids.

Recommend: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

Dry skin: Definitely use a cream, especially in the winter weather. There is more oil in a cream, therefore it is more moisturizing.

Recommend: Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance

Combination skin: Lotions with no acids, something simple such as Cetaphil, Aveeno, or Neutrogena.

Recommend: Neutrogena Fine Fairness Clinical Muiti-Protect UV Fluid

Normal skin: Moisturizers with natural oils work well.

Recommend: Dr.Ci:Labo Aqua Collagen Gel

Sensitive skin: Avoid moisturizers that contain perfumes and other chemicals.

Recommend: Avene Very High Protection Mineral Cream

The Best Time to Apply Moisturizer?
Within a minute of cleansing. This is because your skin is still moist and will receive the maximum benefits of the moisturizer.

Massage It In
Take some moisturizer on your palms and rub your hands together, as it will warm up the cream and allows faster absorption on the skin. Gently massage it into your skin in small, circular motions to promote better penetration.

Remember, the keys to moisturizing skin are choosing the right product and applying it at the right time and in the right way. No more dryness and flakiness this winter, but beautiful, bouncy, and supple skin!
